Juneteenth is the oldest nationally observed commemoration of the ending of slavery in the US and the MFA is celebrating with an online event. The day includes The City Talks panel discussion, story time with artist and children’s book illustrator Ekua Holmes, recitations of speeches, poems, and song lyrics by participants in the MFA’s teen programs, and a performance curated by BAMS Fest. This event will serve to honor the contributions of Black creatives, scholars, and artists to the City of Boston.
