Boston Ballet’s Carmen

March 11, 2020 (1 mins to read)

Boston Ballet‘s resident choreographer Jorma Elo updates George Bizet’s heart wrenching tale of love, passion, jealousy and betrayal for the 21st century. In this adaptation, Carmen isn’t a feisty cigarette factory worker but a feisty supermodel. In a fantasyland of haute couture, she is one corner of a love triangle between herself, Don Jose the businessman and race-car driver Escamillo. Elo’s electrifying choreography ramps up the ante, adding to a dangerous bubbling cauldron of tension and desire.
Running from Mar 12-22 at the Citizens Bank Opera House.
